Peanut Butter Protein Bar

Peanutbutter Protein Bar

Peanut Butter Protein Bar

Have you ever had an experience where you were going to work out with a full stomach? I have! It was a terrible experience. My body was using energy to metabolize food during my workout session. I knew that I had to eat my meal at least 1-2 hours before the workout, but I was running late so I rushed to eat then hit the gym right after.  Sometimes I just can't avoid work-related meetings or something has come up but my exercise routine is very important for my mind and body so I created this healthy snack for an emergency.

1 square contains 12 grams of protein, 6 grams of carbohydrates, and 1 gram of fat. When my schedule is full, I prepare a couple of protein bars in my gym bag and while driving to the gym I snack on a protein bar. It is a perfect portion and extremely convenient.

Peanutbutter Protein Bar

Ingredients;

  • 8 scoops Protein Powder - I prefer chocolate flavour but it's an option so pick the flavour that you like
  • 4 cups Raw Oat
  • 1 cup Organic Peanut Butter - Crunchy or Smooth
  • 1 & 1/3 cup filtered water
  • 1/4 cup Apple Butter - optional but I strongly recommend the apple butter, because it gives an excellent texture and binds well with other ingredients.
  • 2 tbsp. cinnamon

Directions;

  1. Blend raw oat in the blender until smooth
  2. Put oat flour, protein powder, peanut butter, cinnamon, and water in the mixing bowl.
  3. Mix well - Use your hands
  4. Prepare cling wrap on the baking pan ( 13 x 8 )
  5. Place the batter in the pan - You need to press the batter firmly to take shape of the pan
  6. Cover with cling wrap and freeze for 20 minutes
  7. Cut them in 18 squares
  8. Warp individual protein square and keep them in the freezer.

The perfect snack before and after the workout!
